Star Ingredients: Moong Dal, Coconut and Jaggery

Mung/Moong dal is part of legume family which is cultivated in Asia and India. It’s one of those legumes which will be used in both sweet and savory dishes. Yellow moong dal is basically split version of green moong dal which cooks quickly and relatively easy to digest.

When cooked, this legume is basically bland to taste. Thus making it a versatile ingredient to add to any sweet or savory dish and assume its flavors. Among many dishes we prepare as part of Indian cuisine, yellow moong dal always takes special place when made as sweet dishes.
